Get your lederhosen ready and clear your calendar—Hickory’s Oktoberfest is the kind of party you’ll want to raise a stein to. Every October, our downtown transforms into a lively, beer-sipping, brat-grilling, music-blasting celebration that blends authentic German tradition with a hearty helping of Hickory charm.
Co-founded by the German-born Adolphus “Dolph” Shuford (yes, we’re on a first-name basis with our founding fest-father), this annual event is a nod to our roots and a showcase of everything we do best: live music, local flavor, and a whole lot of community spirit.
Expect polka, rock, and everything in between on multiple stages, beer tents pouring by the pint, and food vendors dishing out German staples like soft pretzels and bratwurst—plus a few local twists, of course. And yes, there’s an Oompah band, because what’s Oktoberfest without a little brass and a big tuba?
Wander through artisan booths for one-of-a-kind finds, handcrafted goods, and souvenirs you’ll actually want to take home.
Bringing the whole crew? We’ve got you. Kidsfest serves up face painting, inflatables, live entertainment, and games galore—because good times should come in family size.
